I was a junior member of the Canadian Team at the Culinary Olympics in Frankfurt, Germany, 1976. It certainly was an eye opener but diner food has always been my favourite. We have been serving breakfast, lunch and dinner for the past 27 years at John’s Place Restaurant in Victoria, BC. Canada. We make everything from scratch including our herb bread, corn bread, banana bread, focacia, pies, cheesecakes and all our salad dressings. When Food Network Canada was filming in November for our fall shoot we made our Southwestern Meatloaf, Stuffed Beef Burger with blue cheese, Mile High Apple Pie, Belgian Waffles with our own cream cheese syrup and our best seller, Eggs Benedict with an authentic real butter hollandaise sauce and we had a blast doing it.
Our regular breakfast service also includes, Yankee Corned Beef Hash, Huevos Rancheros, Homemade Chorizo sausage and Italian Chicken sausage. Tex Mex Egg Burritos, Heavenly Pancakes and many more.
Our regular lunch menu includes such diner staples as Grilled Panini’s, Stuffed Burgers, Real Clubhouse Sandwiches, Homemade Omelettes, Albacore Tuna Salad, Warm Spinach Salad, Chicken Caesar Salad, Oriental Chicken Salad, Poached Salmon Salad and many more.
Our regular dinner service features such favourites as Shrimp Fettucini, Creamy Tortellini, Rose Agnolotti, Stuffed Chicken Breast “Oopa”, Chicken Parmigiana, Santorini Calamari, Stuffed Venice Rice Balls, Salmon Steak with maple syrup and pecans, Lamb Sirloin with a sweet glaze and many more!
